Municipal data protection working group – cooperation and exchange of experience

The working group is based on trusting cooperation and thrives on the active commitment of its members. The regular exchange of experiences and best practices promotes an open culture of discussion and strengthens cooperation between the municipal data protection officers. The continuous cooperation of all participants creates added value for everyone involved.

Tasks and objectives of the working group

  • Development of joint internal working aids and recommendations for action for official data protection.
  • Creation of guidance on topics such as digital administrative services.
  • Discussion of current issues with experts and supervisory authorities.

Benefits for members

  • Practical solutions: Through collegial exchange, challenges in municipal data protection are overcome together.
  • Networking: The working group provides a platform for dialog with authorities and supervisory bodies.
  • Current guidance: The guidelines developed support the implementation of data protection-compliant processes in the administration.

The joint work creates a knowledge base that helps all participants to effectively implement data protection in their municipalities.

We welcome new members who find municipal data protection very exciting. In addition to general professional experience as a DPO, we require a basic understanding of municipal data protection.
