Starting signal for the DAME 2024 data protection media prize

The competition initiated by the Professional Association of Data Protection Officers in Germany (BvD) is entering its eighth round. From now until December 6, 2024, media professionals and creative minds can submit their contributions on the topic of data protection.

The annual Data Protection Media Prize honors the work of creative and media professionals who communicate the topic of data protection or aspects thereof in a clear and understandable way and thus make a contribution to the secure handling of personal data.

Are you a film and media maker, journalist, creative person, from a (youth) organization, association or initiative and were involved in a media contribution that deals with the topic of data protection? Whether a long or short film, reportage, print or podcast, song, media platform, video clip or animation contribution – every contribution has the chance to win the award worth 3,000 euros. The Data Protection Media Award was initiated in 2017 by the Professional Association of Data Protection Officers in Germany (BvD) e.V. and has been continued by the non-profit GmbH privacy4people since 2020. Since November 2018, the award has been sponsored by the DATEV-Stiftung Zukunft. The German Donations Council donates a special prize. Cooperation partner is the EU initiative klicksafe.

Competition entries can be submitted by email or post. All submissions sent by December 6, 2024, 12:00 noon to mail@datenschutzmedienpreis.de or to the following address will be considered:
