BvD extends Data Protection Wiki of data protection officers
The Association of Data Protection Officers of Germany (BvD) takes over the online dictionary Data Protection Wiki of the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI), Andrea Voßhoff. Ever since 15 December, 2016, the BvD, in cooperation with the chair for Information and Technology Management of the Ruhr University Bochum, has been managing the online dictionary www.datenschutz-wiki.de.
“We intend to offer a platform for both data protection officers and interested consumers”, stated BvD Board member Dr. Kai-Uwe Loser. “It will offer important specialist information and comments on legislation and also in-depth explanations of fundamental data protection concepts.”
Data protection experts and officers are invited to contribute to the content. As with the online encyclopaedia Wikipedia, we envisage the Data Protection Wiki to grow with the contributions by professionals and volunteers.
Although Voßhoff’s administration operated the website in the past, it has been looking for a successor. The content will be developed by the BvD and its members with their proven specialist expertise and experience, whilst cooperation with the Ruhr University will contribute the technical expertise required for development of the Data Protection Wiki.
