GDPR challenges – Commerce meets Supervision
Get your company ready for the General Data Protection Regulation
Companies in Germany will be facing major challenges when the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) enters into force on 25 May 2018. The Association of Data Protection Officers of Germany (BvD) and the Baden-Württemberg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Dr. Stefan Brink, are therefore inviting Commerce and Management and also company data protection officers to the conference “GDPR challenges – Commerce meets Supervision” on 26 and 27 October, 2017, in Stuttgart, in order to jointly define the next steps to take. Another item on the agenda will be about how companies can make their preparations effectively and legally compliant and avoid errors when the GDPR launches.
Participating companies and data protection officers will, in intensive interaction with Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Rhineland-Palatinate supervisory authorities, be offered guidance, recommended measures to take and templates for optimal positioning compliant with the GDPR.
Lawyers will furthermore explain the predominant pitfalls companies may face, for instance on the topic of consent. Representatives of Liechtenstein and Swiss data protection authorities will also be participating.
